The Doubloon was a chance to build on our own terms. Kai purchased this lot in Pirates Cove specifically to design a spec home that pushed what’s possible in Galveston coastal construction — and to let the finished product speak for itself.

Working with Anderson Canyon Architects and 1113 Structural Engineers, we developed a foundation concept that replaced the traditional piling field with just 20 concrete columns, opening up the entire ground floor for entertaining space. The orientation was intentional too — designed to draw in southern breezes in the summer and buffer winter winds, so the outdoor living areas work year-round.

The home sold in 2022 for over asking price.
